Dave: Professor of Sedimentology and Stratigraphy; Deputy Director of Research (Impact)

David Hodgson graduated with a B.Sc. in Geology and Physical Geography from Liverpool University in 1996. In 2001 David completed his Ph.D., supervised by Kevin Pickering and John Platt at University College London, which focussed on the tectonic deformation of the Tabernas-Sorbas Basin through the Tortonian and Messinian. David was based in the Stratigraphy Group, University of Liverpool, as a Lecturer before becoming a Reader in Applied Sedimentology at the University of Leeds in 2012. David has worked extensively in the Tanqua and Laingsburg areas of the Karoo Basin, South Africa and the Neuquen Basin, Argentina, and is currently PI for the LOBE2 project and the Shallow-marine Research Group. He joined the School of Earth and Environment at The University of Leeds in 2012 as Reader in Applied Sedimentology
