Menno: PhD student studying proximal deep-water submarine fans and CLTZ's

 

Menno graduated from Utrecht University with a BSc in Earth Sciences, followed by a MSc in Geology also at Utrecht University, graduating in March 2012. Previous research focused on experimental and numerical modelling of high density turbidity currents.

Menno joined the Stratigraphy Group to begin his PhD in 2012, where he is currently working as part of the LOBE 2 project, looking at submarine fan deposits of the southwestern Karoo Basin, South Africa.

Research interests include sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy and petroleum geology.
